Synopsis 3

3.

Honeydew Melon?
In the U.S. some people call some African American People ‘Oreo’, black outside and white inside. I use ‘Honeydew Melon’ in a similar way to express how I feel about who I am.

In the third part I explore the idea of being personally Japanese and the different ideas that determine ‘Japanese’ and personal feelings.

Whether we feel Japanese or not is determined by whether we encounter cultural differences.

The interview recordings were also done on Maui with ‘Japanese’ people.
In the visual part I attempt to trace my childhood.
